HIGHLIGHTS DIPLOMA STUDENTS APPRECIATION DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE ABOUT

DIRECTOR'S WELCOME MESSAGE

Mr Daniel Tan

Director
School of Interactive & Digital Media
Nanyang Poly

A year has passed since I last penned a similar message for the graduating class of 2017. Now in a few months’ time, a new cohort of students from the class of 2018 eagerly awaits to enthral us with their creative works at this year’s diploma show, FUSION’18.

Scheduled for 3 and 4 April 2018, the creative works of more than 310 final year students from Nanyang Polytechnic‘s School of Interactive & Digital Media (SIDM) will be on display at Suntec City (Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre, Concourse Level 3) for the very first time.

FUSION’18 promises to captivate once again with interactive and digital media works from final year students from our 6 diplomas, namely, Animation, Digital Game Art & Design, Digital Visual Effects, Game Development & Technology, Interaction Design and Motion Graphics & Broadcast Design.

Themed “Visionary”, the class of 2018, aims to present themselves as creative talents with original and imaginative ideas about what the future will or could be like. Through their creative eyes, they seek to use their interactive and digital media talents to create a future that inspires and one that keeps on inspiring.

Come meet our creators behind the many top-notched national and industry-grade projects and productions. These would include the motion graphics behind the National Day Parade showcase 2017, the educational animation videos on road safety for Traffic Police and the Singapore Road Safety Council, the visual effects created for Mediacorp’s TV series “When Duty Calls”, the animation and motion graphics for the largest video wall in Singapore at Suntec City, the series of augmented reality and virtual reality video games, the interactive media for the Harry Porter exhibition at the Singapore Philatelic Museum and at Marina Bay’s iLight Festival and many more.

Finally, it leaves me to thank all our sponsors, alumni, parents, industry partners and guests, as well as congratulate the organising committee, course coordinators and the class of 2018 for their dedication, commitment and effort in making this year’s diploma show FUSION’18 another great success! May this success follow you as you head out on your next journey. All the very best!
